Do you take my insurance? Reimbold Eye Group
We accept many vision and medical plans; check your coverage when you book. Reimbold Eye Group in Alpharetta serves patients from Alpharetta, Roswell, Johns Creek, Milton and Cumming. Tell us your plan name when you book online and we will check your benefits for you.
Plans we take
Vision plans: all vision plans.
Medical plans: most major medical plans.
Medicaid: We do not accept Medicaid.
Plans change. Always tell us your plan name so we can check. We do not keep a public list of every plan, because networks and benefits change often. The surest step is to name your plan when you book.
Vision plan or medical plan?
- Vision plan (like VSP or EyeMed): pays for your yearly check-up and helps pay for glasses or contacts.
- Medical plan (like Medicare or Blue Cross): pays when you come in for a health problem, like dry eye, an eye infection, glaucoma or diabetes.
Not sure which one to use? Tell us why you are coming in. We will pick the right plan for you.
Some visits use both in the same year. A routine exam may go on your vision plan. A later visit for red eye, dry eye flares or glaucoma follow-up may go on your medical plan. We bill the visit that matches why you are here.
About the $39 imaging fee
Every exam includes retinal photos and corneal topography (a map of the front of your eye). Together they have a yearly $39 co-pay that insurance does not pay.
Most plans charge about that much for one scan. We include both. The photos help us watch for early changes in the back of the eye. The topography map helps with contact lens fittings and many eye surface problems. Ask us if you have questions before your visit.
FSA and HSA
FSA and HSA money can often be used for eye exams, glasses and contacts. Many FSA plans end on December 31. Ask us how to pay with yours.
If you have leftover FSA funds near year end, an exam, new glasses or a contact lens supply may be a good use of that money. Bring your card. We can help you see what is eligible.
What insurance often covers at Reimbold
- Yearly comprehensive eye exams
- Medical eye visits for problems such as dry eye, red eye or glaucoma monitoring
- Help toward glasses and contact lenses when your vision plan includes materials benefits
- Specialty contact lens care when your medical plan allows it (coverage varies a lot)
We provide eye exams and referrals for surgery when needed. We do not perform surgery in our office. If a cataract or other problem needs a surgeon, we refer you and keep watching your eyes before and after.
