An exam that looks at eye health, not just your prescription

Every exam includes retinal photos, a corneal topography map and an OCT scan of the optic nerve. OCT gives a cross-section view of the retina and optic nerve and helps us find glaucoma, macular degeneration, narrow angles and diabetic swelling of the retina. When needed, we add a Humphrey visual field test to check your side vision. We save your images so we can compare them year to year, and we show you what we are seeing. We also have OCT angiography (OCTA), which can catch early blood-vessel changes from diabetes and macular degeneration.

What to expect, start to finish

  1. Your visit starts with a welcome at the door. Our team wants you to feel at ease and to leave knowing more about your eyes than when you came in. First come the tests every patient gets: eye pressure, corneal topography, retina photos and an OCT of the optic nerve. Our staff are trained to read these OCT scans.

  2. Next is the "which is better" part. Dr. Reimbold takes her time here. At the end she shows you one step stronger and one step weaker. Both should look blurry, and that tells her the prescription is exact. Many people worry about giving the wrong answer, but with her approach most patients say they didn't worry at all. Then she walks you through every image so you understand your results.

  3. If you need glasses, our opticians ask what fills your days, from the trail to the office, and help you choose frames that give you confidence. Lenses are edged in our own lab and each pair is triple-checked before pickup.

Good to know: imaging is a $39 annual fee not paid by insurance; we accept all vision plans and most major medical plans, but not Medicaid; and most patients are dilated every 2 to 3 years, or yearly or sooner when needed.

Eyewear for outdoor Milton

Sun and UV exposure add up, so good sunglasses matter more than ever. Our in-house tinting lab offers many colors for specific activities, including shooting, running, fishing and golfing. Our opticians use OptiKam digital measurements so high-definition lenses feel right sooner, and our onsite lab can facet, groove and engrave lenses. If you play sports and don't want daytime contacts, ask about DreamSculpt Ortho-K lenses, which are worn only overnight.

Kids and teens

We see children from infancy on and adapt each exam to the child. For kids whose nearsightedness keeps increasing, we offer myopia control, including MiSight 1 day lenses, since we are an approved CooperVision MiSight center. Pediatric eye exams · Myopia program costs
